Alin Totorean la inaltime!
Exploratorul si artistul fotograf Alin Totorean a finalizat cu succes prima etapa a expeditiei solitare, pe care o desfasoara in aceste luni in Australia; fotoreporterul special al revistei TERRA MAGAZIN a incheiat socotelile cu desertul din centrul continentului de la antipozi, cucerind cel mai inalt varf din Australia de Nord, Mount Zeil.
Dupa doua zile si o noapte de mers pe un teren extrem de accidentat, foarte dificil, si dupa ce a traversat alte doua culmi montane, in conditii extreme, cu temperaturi ce urcau in timpul zilei la 38-40 de grade Celsius la umbra, Alin a ajuns pe Mount Zeil in data de 4 martie, la ora 08:30 dimineata.
Cu aceasta ascensiune ? chiar daca nu este un varf foarte inalt (masurand doar 1.513 m), ariditatea si conditiile extreme il fac deosebit de greu de cucerit ? Alin Totorean a finalizat prima parte a ?Expeditiei TERRA MAGAZIN ? AUSTRALIA 2009?, etapa ce a insumat aproximativ 750 de kilometri parcursi pe jos, in zona desertica, de unul singur. Principalele repere ale traseului au fost Uluru (muntele sacru al aborigenilor) ? Salt Lake Amadeus ? Kings Canyon ? Peterman Hills ? Finke River ? Red Bank Gorge si Mount Zeil.
Programul viitor al primei explorari solitare a Australiei de catre un roman cuprinde deplasarea din Alice Springs catre nord, pana in zona Katherine-Kakadu, unde conditiile vor fi complet diferite. Aceasta regiune a fost devastata, nu de mult, de furtuni deosebit de violente si inundatii, explorarea Parcului National Kakadu si a regiunii din apropierea coastei nordice a Australiei devenind, astfel, cel putin la fel de periculoasa precum traversarea deserturilor din Outback.
