On Assignment – escalada de poveste

In ziua de azi, aproape toti suntem fotografi. Fie ca avem un telefon cu camera foto, fie ca avem un dslr entry level, sau, daca este un dslr de elita, cu atat mai mult – fotografiile ies aproape singure. Dar in momentul in care treaba ta este sa faci un documentar despre cataratorii de la Yosemite Valley, si mai ales, cand National Geographic iti cere asta, totul devine mult mai interesant. Adica – a te trezi cu noaptea in cap, a dormi suspendat la sute de metri inaltime, a face fotografii perfecte, a crea o poveste, si a surprinde momentele reprezentative pentru povestea creata. Pe langa astea, o multime de alte lucruri, asa cum vei afla din clipul de mai jos. Renan Ozturk – On Assignment.

For this piece I worked with our crew at camp4collective.com to tell thenorthface.com athlete Jimmy Chin’s jimmychin.com story as he in turn highlights modern day climbing in Yosemite for a National Geographic feature story.

It seemed so serendipitous to be ‘on assignment’ in a place that we all cut out teeth as adventurers and which also ended up becoming the namesake of our collective!
