Bicycle Speakerphone

Cine credea ca inovatorii nu se gandesc la cum sa faca viata biciclistilor mai interesanta si mai conectata cu ce se intampla “out there”  … credea gresit. Produsele care le gasim promovate mai peste tot sunt o dovada clara ca cineva acolo sus se gandeste la cei ce isi petrec viata pe doua roti (fara motor) :) Pe ziua de azi va dam de veste despre un speakerphone care se monteaza pe ghidon. Se conecteaza la telefon prin bluetooth si va lasa sa ascultati muzica, sa raspundeti la telefon si alte cele. A da … asta face si un sistem hansfree daaar! acest speakerphone are boxe. Cata vreme nu puneti manele la maxim, sansele sa iritati pietonii sunt mai mici :)

Just like any regular wireless speakerphone unit, it connects with your handset over Bluetooth, giving you the magical powers of piping audio from your phone into the speakers.  Unlike them, however, it’s meant to secure right on your bicycle’s handlebars, giving cyclists like you even more ways to irritate nearby pedestrians.  Yay!

The Bicycle Speakerphone is a loudspeaker/case combo that measures 7.75 x 3.25 x 4.25 inches, adding a non-intrusive slab right along your handlebars.   Aside from piping cellphone audio to its 2-watt speakers, the device doubles as a zippered case for holding your phone, along with other small items.

Control panel, which lights up when you have an incoming call, is right on the top surface, sandwiched by the stereo speaker grills.  Only pair of hook and loop fasteners hold the assembly in place, though, so you’ll likely have to remove it and take with you if you’re leaving your bike outdoors.  According to the product site, power is provided by three AA batteries, although there’s no mention of how long the juice will last.

Wakeboarding independent!

V-ati gandit vreodata cum ar fi sa nu depindeti de o barca “normala” cu motor, de cineva care sa o carmuiasca, de programul acelui cineva, de abilitatile si “cohonesiiiii” pilotului? Uite ca exista o solutie! Probabil ca o sa iti ia putin timp sa te obisnuiesti cu postura de rider si driver in acelasi timp dar merita efortul. This is the unmanned water skiing boat that’s controlled entirely by the skier. A six-button control panel on the tow rope handle sends signals to the boat, allowing skiers to start, accelerate, decelerate, turn, or stop the vessel with slight thumb movements.

The nearly 8′-long boat has a three-cylinder, two-stroke 70 horsepower engine with jet pump and axial flow propulsion, generating speeds up to 40 MPH and creating wakes for jumps and other tricks. The jet propulsion engine is safer than propeller-powered crafts and provides superior acceleration and quicker planing–the time required to bring the skier and vessel level with the water surface. The tri-hull boat is made from durable fiberglass and molded plastic and it has a bilge pump that automatically removes water from the vessel.

The boat has a six-gallon gas tank and it automatically stops when the skier lets go of the handle. Includes a 40′-long tow rope. For use in water that’s at least 6′ deep, the boat is also ideal for slalom skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, or tubing. 94 1/2″ L x 41 1/2″ W x 29″ H. (375 lbs.)

The trailer was designed by English company Environmental Transport Association, is not actually available for sale.  They claim they ?developed the QTvan to highlight the estimated 220,000 people who use a mobility scooter without breakdown cover and face the prospect of a very long wait should they suffer a mechanical fault or their battery runs flat.?
The £5,500 QTvan is the world?s smallest caravan and is so named because it caters to three peculiarly British obsessions: queuing, tea and caravans. Inside, there’s a tea service, a 19-inch flat-screen television, radio, alarm clock book shelves, a full-sized single bed and kettle. It’s even available for short vacations, though with a 30-mile range and six-mph top end, it won’t get you much further than the park.

Round Tail Bike Frame

Tipul asta de bicicleta, cu “coada rotunjita” se auto-promoveaza ca fiind mult mai comfortabila mentinand totusi aceeasi eficienta in pedalare si rigiditate generala. Trebuie sa recunoastem ca arata foarte ciudat dar un ciudat pozitiv. Sigur ar intoarce multe capete curioase si multi biciclisti de cariera as vrea sa o incerce! The classic double-diamond bicycle frame works well enough.  But odd designs could be fun, too (I mean, how can you not love a hotdog-shaped bike).  The RoundTail Bike justifies its unusual shape by claiming to be “dramatically more comfortable,” all while “retaining the same lateral stiffness and pedaling efficiency.”

Created by Canadian bike-builder Lou Tortola, the idea for the frame first came about after he noticed the amount of discomfort and injuries caused by riding among long-time cyclists.   Using hoops instead of a pole at the rear end allows the frame to absorb more of the road vibrations, dulling a lot of the impact that would otherwise end up pushing against you instead.

Sistem de hidratare pentru biciclete

Cei de la Veleau s-au gandit la un sistem de hidratare montat pe bicicleta, care sa ne ajute la turele lungi si istovitoare. Ne putem dubla capacitatea camiliera de apa carata pe bitzigla fara sa ne incurcam in 50 de bidoane la care ajungem foarte greu (dupa ore de efort intens).

What if you could double your bike?s water carrying capacity for those longer rides? Or what if you don?t feel comfortable reaching down for a water bottle while hammering in a paceline? We?ve all been there. No one wants to hit the pavement because one rider in the group is looking down or fumbling for their water bottle. Races have been lost and riders have been injured by jettisoned water bottles.

Cu paramotorul peste Himalaya

Stiati ca acu’ cativa ani doi temerari nebuni si-au luat in spate paramotorul si au trecut Himalaya, chiar peste varful Everest? Stiati ca cel putin pe unul dintre acestia ii stiti foarte bine (daca urmariti Discovery). Prietenii de la Pilot Magazin au scris un articol fain pe tema asta care incepe cam asa:

Gilo Cardozo fondatoral companiei Parajet povesteste despre pasiunea sa pentru zborul cu parapanta.

Atelierul sau era amenajat intr-un sopron si in 2002 a inceput constructia primei parapante cu motor. Visul sau a fost sa construiasca cele mai bune paramotoare din lume. El a mers pe principiul de proiectare si design a intregii constructii, inclusiv si al motorului. Astfel paramotorul Aero Parajet XT 180 construit de el era foarte performant.

In 2007 Gilo Cardozo a facut echipa cu aventurierul Bear Grylls, pe care Dv. cititorii acestui articol, il cunoasteti din emisiunea ?Tehnici Esentiale de Supravietuire?, de pe Discovery. Impreuna cei doi au organizat o expeditie in Himalaya cu scopul de a zbura cu paramotoarele Parajet pe deasupra varfului Everest la peste 8848 m.

Freedom Outrigger Project (kayak + canoe)

Perspectiva unor oameni cu disabilitati care au gasit un sport in care pot performa. Resimt din nou camaraderia de care duceau dorul, antrenamentele grele si gustul “victoriei” impartasit cu echipa. Foarte fain!

Here?s a perspective on canoe and kayak from veteran LAPD officer Jerry Guy, two-time Olympian Cliff Meidl, and Wounded Warrior, Greg Crouse. Jerry lost his left leg at 23 years old while on duty with The LAPD.

Cliff Meidl, at age 20, came in contact with 30,000 volts of electricity, a voltage 5 times greater than the electric chair!

As a result of the accident Cliff lost the use of his legs. He found his way to the Olympic games twice as a result of Outrigger Canoe racing. Greg Crouse, US Army, lost his leg and became a member of the Freedom Outrigger Project, medal winner in the World Sprints 2008, he now races with IMUA Outrigger Canoe in Newport Beach CA. It’s your ride (bicycle movie)

Un filmulet foarte fain in care regizorul urmareste traseele a 2 biciclisti prin oras. Unul are un stil mai sportiv, taie intersectii si traieste periculos si un altul care “pluteste pe doua roti” si se bucura de relaxarea adusa de o plimbare prin oras.

This short film features Alfred Bobe Jr. and Fatimah Durkee. The film spins a visual ballad between the two cyclists experiencing the city in their own unique ways.

Both cyclists are city dwellers who amidst the chaos of the concrete jungle have created a private and peaceful psychological space as they traverse the streets. They are both alone and yet they are both very much aware of each others presence.

The film speaks to the harmony with one’s environment that can be found while riding a bicycle in a city and the synchronistic connection we can have with those we have not even met. The short was commissioned by Hutchinson tires.

Bicicletele Gazelle aduse in Romania de Biciclop

Prezent inca din primavara anului trecut in Romania, cel mai popular brand olandez de biciclete, Gazelle, este distribuit in exclusivitate in toata tara incepand cu 2011 de catre Biciclop, magazinul de biciclete urbane.

La sfarsitul saptamanii trecute, intre 8 si 10 aprilie, Biciclop a participat la cel mai mare salon de biciclete din Bucuresti, ExpoBike 2011, unde a expus pentru prima oara in calitate de distribuitor exclusiv.

Alaturi de standul magazinului a fost ridicat si un stand special al Gazelle, unde a fost prezent Henrik Nicolai, Director de Vanzari la Export al Gazelle.

Printre tarile care viseaza la mijloace de transport eficiente, Olanda este recunoscuta drept un paradis al biciclistilor, cu un centru ca Amsterdam drept cel mai “bike friendly” oras din lume. Aleasa bicicleta anului 2011 in Olanda, prin modelul Eclipse, Gazelle este de peste un secol numele propriu care inseamna atitudine urbana la pedale.

Tocmai din acest motiv, Biciclop vrea sa-si reitereze pozitia de promotor al bicicletelor urbane si sa distribuie in magazine din toata tara, incepand cu sezonul primavara-vara 2011, modele consacrate din gama Gazelle precum Basic, Orange sau Toer Populair.

Al doilea weekend din Aprilie ne aduce o noua editie SMAEB … a 9-a. Se pare ca organizatorii s-au saturat de ROMEXPO si au dat pagina :)

“Ajuns la a IX-a editie, salonul va avea loc – pentru prima data in Complexul ROMAERO.

Locatia este generoasa, avand o istorie expozitionala complexa, manifestari de genul Salonul Auto Bucuresti, expozitii militare, nautice si altele avand loc cu succes in decursul anilor.
