King of the Jiu (kayak contest) @ pe Jiu, 28 Septembrie ’13

Pe 28 septembrie va invitam la concursul de whitewater boatercross King of the Jiu! Evenimentul e un prilej pentru pasionatii de whitewater kayaking sa se conecteze si la final de sezon.

Pe scurt despre concursul de boatercross:
– Se poate participa numai cu caiace whitewater, cu lungime maxima de 3m. Purtarea castii de protectie si vestei de salvare este obligatorie.
– Startul se va da pentru toti participanti deodata.
– Lungimea traseului va fi de 6,5 km, pe sectorul canion al Jiului. Grad de dificultate WWI-III. Organizatorii pot modifica traseul in functie de debit.
– Pe traseu se vor monta obstacole, care vor trebui atinse de fiecare participant. Cei care nu ating obstacolele vor fi penalizati.
– Cel mai rapid concurent castiga concursul.
– Regulile concursului vor fi explicate si la fata locului.

“22-year-old Extreme Kayak World Champion Sam Sutton from New Zealand and the renowned German kayak filmmaker Olaf Obsommer (41) have returned from a kayak expedition around the world.

For one year, the two extreme paddlers and their friends of the adidas Sickline team were searching for the most spectacular runnable whitewater on the planet — or as kayakers like to say — for the next „River God”.

Their strenuous journey takes them to Russia to the remote Altai Mountains in the heart of Siberia, to Iceland, the Kingdom of Waterfalls, and to Chiapas in the South of Mexico. Here they finally find a true River God”
